Looking after your bike
As a motorcyclist, you have a responsibility to maintain your bike, and whether this is done by yourself, your partner, your mate or your local garage depends on your skill level. While it’s easy to let someone else do the work, a basic understanding of the mechanics of your bike may prove invaluable when you hear a new noise or it doesn’t feel quite right.
Have a look at the Basic Maintenance page under the Safer Biking tab for pre-ride checks. It is hoped that in the future, Staffs Bikers will be able to offer advice to lady bikers from a female mechanic. This advice may be available at the Bikers’ Breakfast events and there are also plans to host women-only training events, but in the meantime, this site offers some tips:

This year we are introducing maintenance workshops for ‘Ladies Only’ in partnership with ‘Ratchet & Ride’, with their bike mechanic, Kate Dominey. There will be three monthly sessions, for 3 hours, at a cost of £25 per person (for the whole course). Sessions will run from Stafford in June, July and August.
