BikeSafe is a police led motorcycle project that is run by most forces throughout the UK. The main aim is to reduce the number of bikers being hurt on the roads. We think that riding should be fun and by improving skills, knowledge and hazard awareness it will hopefully make riding safer and more enjoyable.
BikeSafe is a great way to start on the right path to developing your riding.
Owned and run by the police, BikeSafe provides skills development workshops across the country that encourages and promotes post test training from the IAM, RoSPA or the enhanced Rider scheme.
NEW FOR 2018
Staffordshire police are proud to be returning to the Bikesafe family and will be looking to run the Bikesafe scheme from Staffordshire Police headquarters in the spring of 2018 on Saturdays and Sundays.
The BikeSafe initiative is a national program organised by a number of police forces throughout the UK.
BikeSafe was designed to bridge the gap from passing the full motorcycle test and taking on further training and therefore is not designed for riders who have advanced qualifications. The initiative was developed as a direct response to the high number of KSI`s (Killed or seriously injured) collisions involving motorcyclists. Statistics have shown that motorcyclists are in the region of 1% of vehicles on the road, but count for approximately 26% of casualties.
Staffordshire is a small force compared to some of our neighbours with only 8 police motorcyclists this means we cater for reduced class sizes, but this in turn gives us the benefit of being able to offer a more personal touch. Remember book early as similar courses run by Staffordshire Police have always proved very popular and successful with bookings being taken quickly.
BikeSafe workshops for 2018 will take place at
